This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a while now. The Solar Cycle is my favourite book series of all time and I right now I am finishing off the Book of the Short Sun series.
As usual, with a Gene Wolfe book, there is a lot of information that can be missed if you do not pay attention to the text.
I thought it would be fun to read through the entire series again, as it has been a few years since I’ve done The Book of the New Sun, The Urth of the New Sun, and The Book of the Long Sun. While I am currently reading The Book of the Short Sun, I am pretty sure I am missing much of the narrative, so a closer read and writing about it would be good for me too.
The entire “Solar Cycle” series consists of 12 books, so once I am done with Return to the Whorl, I will be starting again with The Shadow of the Torturer.
