Not sure why I am writing this post. Maybe it’s just a way to cap this little side project.
Anyway, I am not working on Retrograde Online anymore. It is just boring to me now.
This started as a way for me to learn some Domain Driven Design and React. I’ve always thought Javascript is an awful language and learning some React has only reaffirmed my belief. Domain Driven Design I found far too overkill for this project, and maybe for most projects.
I also thought it would be cool to have some kind of MMO game that captures a little piece of the past for me.
The trouble is that nobody really wants to play a game from 25 years ago, otherwise there would already be a ton of games like that.
I don’t think anyone would want to play a browser-based game either.
Along with my total lack of skills related to UX and artwork, both essential aspects of any game, this project was always doomed to failure.
While this website was created to showcase Retrograde Online, it’s actually been more of a run-of-the-mil blog that nobody reads, and I’m quite happy with that.
So, this blog may continue in some form for an unspecified amount of time, but the Retrograde Online game will not.
Dev Blog End.
