Who are you and why should I care?

I am a software developer from South-East England. I’ve spent most of my time writing .NET applications for various businesses and industries, but as of late 2023 have started branching out into React and Python (with Django) development.

Why should you care? Well, you shouldn’t, of course.

What sort of things have you written?

I’ve worked on medical administration systems, online payment platforms, bespoke applications for small businesses, insurance platforms, and various things for the central UK government.

Were any of them any good?

Not really. Other than the ones I wrote by myself, naturally. When the business gets in the way of software development there are usually too many compromises made that degrade the quality. Most industry software has a solid bedrock of legacy code and technical debt.
