I have many problems in my life. Here is a short list off the top of my head:
- Sleeping at a slightly different angle cripples my neck and back for days1
- Thinking about the wrong thing while trying to get to sleep will prolong wakefulness by exactly one night2
- Eating without having taken a magic pill with trigger my body to start dissolving itself3
- Very interested in binge watching TV series but do not seem to enjoy the actual watching4
But another of them is the inability to stop buying board games. This time I decided I would stop subjecting others in my life to this obsession of mine. I have never understood why I find it difficult to commit to a single one-hour long episode of a TV show, but have no problem spending four hours on a board-game, but that is just the way of things.
This time I thought a bit harder about what I wanted from a game, and decided on a solo game that has complexity and replayability. I was torn between Star Trek: Frontiers5, Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, Expeditions, and Frostpunk.
Expeditions looked pretty cool, but I am yet to play Scythe solo so thought it best I do that first. Robinson Crusoe good too, and was a close second. I’ll probably get that next time. Frostpunk is on XBox Game Pass, so I downloaded that instead6.
That leaves Star Trek: Frontiers as my main choice, which you already knew, as it is the title of this post.
Much like my Arkham Horror playthrough7, I am planning on writing about my adventures in space. Naturally this will be gripping, edge-of-your-seat stuff, so ensure you fully brace yourselves before embarking on these stories.
Sometimes I just cannot understand why I have no friends8.

I suffer still. It has been a week. ↩︎
-
This is one I do every few days. Stop thinking about the future. ↩︎
-
I must remember to take that pill after writing this drivel. ↩︎
-
Man, I want to watch all the Star Treks, but that is such a massive time investment. ↩︎

AKA Mage Knight - In Spaaaace. ↩︎
-
It is fiddly and boring, and is probably way better as a board game. ↩︎
-
Currently consisting of one scenario, with three more to write about. ↩︎

That’s just a funny joke, of course. I know exactly why. ↩︎
